After venturing into restaurant business, which now has three branches, Alden Richards will be opening a gasoline station this year. There is no stopping Alden Richards from achieving more.
Aside from his showbiz career, the Kapuso actor has investments in the restaurant business. Since opening Concha’s Garden in Tagaytay last year, Alden happily revealed that it already has three branches. The fourth branch is also underway. “And then we’re gonna be up for franchising next year, so sobrang blessed ako that I’ve met my partner," referring to Gemma Sembrano, a chef. "Kasi siya talaga ang nag-aalaga ng business namin,” he said during the event of Vida Nutriscience, Inc., the makers of SnowCaps whitening product, which Alden endorses. It was held at Blu Water Day Spa in Greenhills, where street sweepers and barangay tanod to a pampering session on August 9. GASOLINE STATION. His next goal, which he intends to achieve this year, is put up a gasoline station. “Before the year ends, I’m gonna be coming up with a gas station,” he revealed. He is also considering a spa business. “Based on experience, hindi po maganda na all the eggs in one basket. You have to diversify kasi siyempre hindi naman panay ang demand sa iisa, kailangan may iba ka sources pa ng income.” He got his entrepreneurial spirit from his dad, Richard Faulkerson, who will manage Alden's gas station. “Kasi that’s what my dad keeps on telling me, kasi we’re given this so much blessing of things na puwede mong mapalago in the future,” he said. “So it’s more of securing the future for family, for mga kamag-anak ko, especially, kasi in a way, before you help others, you have to help people inside the family.” Likewise, his perennial onscreen partner Maine Mendoza has also started venturing into business. Just recently, she opened a franchise of the fast-food chain that she and Alden endorse. Her family owns gasoline stations, too. We could not help but wonder if she influenced Alden to follow suit. He said, “Actually, napag-uusapan na talaga namin ni Maine ‘yan. “Pag nag-uusap kaming dalawa, sabi ko, ‘Ano bang gusto mong business?’ ganyan.” Regarding Maine’s fast-food business franchise, Alden beamed, “I’m very happy na nagkaroon siya ng chance na makita niya ang pinaghirapan niya for the past two years. “So I’m sure wala na po akong maia-advise kasi both of her parents are business people and parang alam na alam na nila ang gagawin do’n for sure po.” It is good to know that while AlDub (Alden-Maine tandem) is enjoying their current fame, this well-loved tandem is also preparing for the future. -- PEP.ph
