Alden Richards shares his ambitions in music

Alden Richards is best known as being one half of the very popular AlDub couple pairing together with Maine Mendoza. Together, they form the phenomenal Kalyeserye loveteam from the longest-running Philippine noontime show “Eat Bulaga!”.

But did you know that Alden also has an established singing career of his own. He has released two albums thus far. A self-titled album, “Alden Richards” in 2013 and “Wish I May” in 2015.

Once again, Alden is currently busy filming the AlDub movie in Italy, which goes by the working title “Imagine You and Me.”, we are grateful to both him and his management in making this feature possible.

1. You’ve signed a recording contract with GMA Records last year. How has that been so far?
Alden Richards: It’s been amazing.  My album entitled “Wish I May” is now certified 5x platinum.  I appreciate that they listen to my input and they agree with my requests to put praise songs in the album.

2. As of January 2016, your debut album “Alden Richards” has been certified Platinum, while his second album “Wish I May” has been awarded Double Platinum. How is the feeling of having such a successful debut?
Alden Richards: I feel happy and grateful to the fans.  I couldn’t have done it without them.

3. Will you be looking to expand your music career regionally? Or are you looking at any other markets besides the Filipino market?
Alden Richards: I think that would be a great next step for me.  If opportunities open up, I would love to explore them.

4. What can fans expect from Alden the signer in 2016?
Alden Richards: I’m now working on my second album with GMA Records and I love the songs we’ve done so far, so I hope they watch out for that!
