Alden Richards on finding purpose in showbiz: "Minsan iisipin mo, 'Tama pa ba ang ginagawa mo?'"

Alden Richards on dealing with career struggles: "Ang primary goal ko talaga, no matter how negative or unfair this business can be, I'm just gonna continue to do good para nakikita ko yung purpose ng trabaho ko."

Alden Richards, 26, had his share of career highs and lows since he started in showbiz seven years ago.

But even when the going gets tough, the Kapuso actor said he managed to stay strong by finding purpose in whatever he does.

Speaking to PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), Alden explained, “There are certain points talaga in your career that you’re gonna feel tired and minsan iisipin mo, ‘Tama pa ba ang ginagawa mo?’

“For me, one of the reasons I can endure siguro yung physical exhaustion, yung stress, yung some negative parts of the industry, I really pray everyday.

“I pray for wisdom; I pray for patience.

“I’m just focusing on my work to be able to deliver whatever is needed of me.”

Alden went on to say that it helps not to lose sight of the big picture when it comes to being a showbiz personality.

“The experience that you give to people with what you’re doing? Minsan kasi you touch lives through it, e.

“Since we’re public figures, we’re always seen on TV, in print, in social media, etc.

“Ang primary goal ko talaga, no matter how negative or unfair this business can be, I’m just gonna continue to do good para nakikita ko yung purpose ng trabaho ko.

“The purpose of why I’m staying and why I’m still doing this job.”
