Alden Richards will host the 21st Asian TV Awards this December along with Adrian Pang, Stephanie Carrington and Baki Zainal. After his successful concert at the Kallang Theatre last July, Alden Richards will return to Singapore to host the 21st Asian Television Awards.
The awarding ceremony will take place at the Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Center on December 2, 2016. Alden will be joining Adrian Pang, Stephanie Carrington and Baki Zainal to host Asian TV industry’s most significant and celebrated event which recognizes excellence in programming, production and performance. The GMA-7 actor is best known as one half of the phenomenal AlDub loveteam with Maine Mendoza from the longest-running Philippine noontime show Eat Bulaga! “It is truly an honor to be hosting this year’s Asian Television Awards and celebrate the best television content that Asia has to offer,” Alden was quoted as saying regarding this development. Headlining acts for this year’s awards include multiple Golden Melody Awards winner JJ Lin, international pop phenomenon Charli XCX, and a mystery K-Pop band. The delayed telecast of the 21st Asian TV Awards will be aired on December 11, 2016 at 9:30 pm on GMA News TV. In last year's edition, the Philippines earned two nominations in the Asian TV Awards. Michael V competed in the Best Comedy Performance by an Actor category. The Kapuso game show Celebrity Bluff, hosted by Eugene Domingo and Jose Manalo, was one of the nominees in the Best Game or Quiz Programme category. Launched in 1996, Asian Television Awards is the Asian TV industry’s most significant and celebrated event, recognising excellence in programming, production and performance. The winners of over 40 categories are determined by an expert panel of over 60 judges from across the region. The results are tabulated and audited by international auditing firm PriceWaterhouseCoopers.
